Insulator Firm

Not To Rebuild

HUNTINGTON — The Line Material Co. says it has abandoned, at least temporarily, plans to rebuild an insulator plant at nearby Kenova at a cost of $1,200,000.

The plant, which produced porcelain for the McGraw Electric Co. of Chicago, was destroyed by fire last Oct. 29. At peak operations, it employed 440 persons.

Officials of the McGraw subsidiary acquired substantial interest in an Illinois porcelain plant which would replace much of the lost source from Kenova.
