A petition in insolvency was filed Friday of last week by creditors of the Oakman Manufacturing Company, who began last year the manufacture of glass carboys and demijohns at Cheshire, Mass., and in which Mr. Oakman, of Pittsfield, was the principal stockholder. A suit heard in the recent sitting of the Superior Court to collect a bill by Cox Sons & Co., a New Jersey firm, developed the fact that the company was not solvent, and the creditor was advised then to begin insolvency proceedings. The list of liabilities has not been filed yet.
