A WILLIAM H. SEWARD CLUB

 

A meeting was held at the Fifth Avenue Hotel, New York, last night, to organize a club in memory of William H. Seward. There were present John F. Baker, presiding; Charles H. Murray, secretary, Mahlon Chance, Henry Gleason, John S. Smith, William Brookfield, D. N. McKoon, A. T. Lane, W. Irving Scott, William M. Welling, L. L. Van Allen, Dr. W. H. Bissell, Lucian E. Ashley, Cephus Brainard, and M. C. Adams, president of the Republican Club. William Brookfield was elected vice president. Messrs. McKoon, Smith, Brookfield, Ashley, Adams, and Baker were appointed a committee to have the club regularly incorporated.
