COLUMBIA NOTES.

 

Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, the Photographic society held its annual exhibition in the chemical museum of the mines, the rooms being open both afternoon and evening to accommodate   The number of pictures was larger than usual as the membership has greatly increased since last year, and the exhibition as a whole was the best ever given by the society. Its success is largely due to the efforts of the committee, composed of Charles Barton, Oswald Jackson, jr., and H. M. Brookfield. The principal exhibitors were Dr. Clarence H. Young, Adirondack views; Charles Barton, '91, bromide points; Henry R. Taylor, Newport views; Elias Brown, '93, scenes from Niagara; Dr. Sandy, exhibition of lantern slides made by himself; Dwight Taylor, '91. large collection of miscellaneous pictures and photographs. Beside these, various contributions were made by Alger C. Gildersleeve, '89; William H. Hall, '91; Oswald Jackson, jr., '92; George W. Giddings, '92; and Henry M. Brookfield, '93.
