Poetry and the Poets.
There has been a hiatus in the Congregational Lecture course, which Judge Hemingray steps forward to close this evening with a lecture on "Poetry and Poets." This may be regarded as an adventurous task, but we are satisfied in advance of the Judge's ability to perform it satisfactorily. A ripe scholar, a discriminative critic and an ardent lover of the Muses, this gentleman is on his own ground when he discourses on the tuneful art, and a rich intellectual treat is in store for his hearers. We look to see the hall filled, as such an opportunity is not often afforded our citizens.
