NEW INDUSTRY SECURED IN CHARLESTON DISTRICT Large Porcelain Manufacturing Plant to Be Erected Near Cedar Grove to Make Insulators For Use of Electric Power Companies
A large porcelain plant will shortley be established at Glasgow, near Cedar Grove, by the Consumers' Insulator Co., it was learned here today. The company, it was said, virtually has completed arrangements for the establishment of the plant and actual work on the building will be begun within a short time. The principal product of the company will be a porcelain insulator of the kind that is used by electric power companies throughout the country. After operations are well under way, it was said, high pressure porcelain may be manufactured by the company. The Consumers' Insulator Co. now operates plants at New Lexington, O., and other cities in that state. It will be the first pottery company to operate in the Kanawha valley. The Glasgow plant will cover approximately six acres of ground and about 200 skilled workmen will be employed. |
