Miss Edna Hume's card party last evening was a brilliant affair. The rooms were adorned in pink roses, yellow chrysanthemums and ferns. Over the gas and lamp in the parlor were shades in yellow, and pink in the reception room. The dining-room was decorated with the combinations of the two colors and green. The tally-cards were beautifully and artistically done by Miss Hume, and there were hand painted flags of the different colleges, Yale, Princeton, Harvard, West Point, and others. Miss Hume entertained in honor of her guest, Miss Morris, of Frankfort, and Miss Spargur, Mrs. A. J. Parlin's guest, from Hillsboro. Miss Hume looked beautiful in an exquisite yellow silk trimmed in white violets. She makes an ideal hostess. Miss Morris was gowned in a pink embroidered chiffon. Miss Morris is a charming woman, and has been quite popular while visiting here. Miss Spargur wore a handsome pink brocaded silk. Miss Louise Parlin, white chiffon and pearls. The presents were very handsome. Echert served a delicious supper. It would be impossible to give all the pretty gowns that all the handsome girls wore, for there never was a lovelier gathering of young people. The maidens fair were Miss Anna Berry, Miss Alma Parlin, Miss Louise Parlin, Miss Kirtley, Miss Bessie Kirtley, Miss Connie Ford, Miss Augusta Ford, Miss Fannie Fox, Miss Sallie Morgan, Miss Nellie Brent, Miss Black, Miss Earl, Miss Bailey, Miss Helen Underwood, Miss Wetherell, Miss Munson, Miss Lippett, Miss Allison, Miss Camilla Shinkle, Miss Cornelia Spillman, Miss Alice Read, Miss Lillian Stewart, of Avondale; Miss Susan Simrall, Miss Isabella Simrall, Miss Pepper, of Frankfort. The men were Mr. Lindsey, of Frankfort; Frank Cross, Will Eaton, Richard Apperson, Mr. Russell, of Cincinnati; Mr. Ball, Mr. Bigstaff, Dr. Spargur, Mr. Hanna, Mr. Corry, Dr. Heyl, of Ft. Thomas; Louis [sic] Lewis Matthews, Sam Poyntz, Will Hill, Will Walker, Mr. Creaghead, Mr. Rausoe, Claude Black, Will Smith, of Cincinnati; Ed Davidson, of Cincinnati; Jerry Kirtley, Lacey Kirtley, Will Simrall, Joe Fenley, and Will Michaels, of Cincinnati.
