One of the most peculiar strikes on record was that of the girls who work in the Star Porcelain Works, of Trenton, N. J., last week. It was over an order posted by the firm that no girl would be hereafter allowed to sing while at work. Of course the girls struck and it is not to be wondered at. The firm that will not allow singing when it doesn't interfere with the work, should have all manners of strikes on its hands. |
