Children Pay $10,000 to Duncan MacPhee and Settle Estate
Under an adjustment made yesterday afternoon by former Sheriff Thomas H. Thropp and Samuel S. Webber of the Trenton Iron Company, acting as arbitrators, the entire property of the late Duncan Mackensie, including the Union Iron Works, is now the property of his four children. The final adjustment was made in the office of Vroom, Dickinson & Scaminel, and was concluded by the payment of the Mackensie children of $10,500, to Duncan MacPhee, a nephew of Duncan Mackensie and who was the owner of a one-fifth interest in the Mackensie business. In the final adjustment, Mr. Thropp represented the Mackensie children, who are: Mrs. Margaret Herbert, wife of the Rev. Herbert McDermott, of Port Kennedy, Pa.; Joseph W. Mackensie, Duncan A. Mackensie and Thomas Mackensie. Mr. Webber represented Mr. MacPhee. It was agreed by the parties at interest that the two should name a third arbiter, if necessary, but Mr. Thropp and Mr. Webber were able to amicably adjust the matter, without calling in a third party. Messr's Vroom, Dickinson and Scaminell were attorneys for Mr. MacPhee and J. Lefferts Conard represented the Mackensies. |
