BUYING ANOTHER POTTERY

Charles Howell Cook Makes a Bid

for the Eagle Plant.

John H. Backes, representing Edwin Robert Walker, receiver of the Eagle Pottery Company, was yesterday granted by Vice Chancellor Grey, a rule to show cause why the pottery plant should not be sold to Charles Howell Cook for $62,000. Mr. Cook is a trustee of the company, and it is believed that he is buying it in for the new American Potteries Company. His bid is stated to be $19,617.59, more than the appraised value of the land.

The petition recites that it is believed the offer is in excess of what would be bid at publich sale.
