The new furnace at Novelty has been completed and the smokestack raised

The new furnace of the Novelty Glass Works has been completed and work will begin as soon as it is heated up properly. Needed repairs have been made throughout the works and the result will doubtless be a successful season, says the Elmer (N.J.) Times. A new water tank has recently been placed in position. One of the remarkable things done in the recent repairs was the raising up with jacks bodily of the big smoke stack without injuring it in any way. One of the heavy iron upright supports which holds it was taken from under it and moved to a different position.
