ACTIVITY IN MILLVILLLE [sic] MILLVILLE
Glass factories at Millville, N. j. [sic] J., are enjoying greater activity at present than at any time in a year. Prospects are future business are reported to be brighter than during any other season since the reconstruction period incident to the World War. All of the manufacturers report a steady influx of orders for ware and shipments are exceedingly heavy. Some of the factories are running fullest capacity with three shifts, and throughout the trade there is an outlook for an unprecedented business before the season is far spent.
At the South Millville plant of Whitall Tatum Co., No 8, a continuous tank, is continuous in name and nature, there now being three shifts manning the big tank. Numbers 1, 9 and 12 are also in full operation and are turning out a great amount of ware. At the Glasstown plant of the same company, the big continuous green tank is running, the small amber tank and a white tank for South Millville.
The plant of the T. C. Wheaton Co. is also a very busy place. A big six ring continuous tank, a three ring amber tank and a 12-pot furnace are in steady operation.
At the Millville Bottle Works one large furnace has been operating since early in the season, and the other new furnace is now in readiness.
