CORNING AND ILLINOIS GLASS

ORDERS NEW "AMCO" TYPE LEHRS

The Corning Glass Works, Corning, N. Y., have placed with the Amsler-Morton Co. of Pittsburgh an order covering the construction of one seven foot "Amco C" type muffle lehr. This is the second order for "Amco" lehrs, the first one having been built about a year ago. This lehr will be identical to that now in use and known as the "Amco C" type, which has a preheating element beneath the returning strand of the conveyor for raising the temperature of the cold pans to approximate annealing temperature.

The Amsler-Morton Co. also has secured a contract from the Illinois Glass Co., Alton, Ill., for the construction of one 9x65 foot "Amco C" type lehr. The lehr will be similar to that being built for the Corning Glass Works.
