GLASS FOR INSULATORS
A glass which has very high insulating qualities, low coefficient of expansion, and great stability has been patented by Fred M. Locke, of Victor, N. Y. The composition of the glass is as follows:
SiO2, 78.73%; Na2O; 4.24%.
CaO, 1.33%; K2O; 0.62%.
Al2O3 and Mn trace.
FeO, 0.86%; B2O3; 14.22%.
Mg trace
The expansion coefficient of the glass is approximately 0.0000032. (1,510,521, Oct. 7, 1924).
