CHILD LABOR SUITS SQUASHED

Deputy Factory Inspector Millburn

Failed to Sustain Charges.

The cases of the State against the Cook Pottery Company, alleging the employment of child labor, were all non-suited yesterday in the City Court and similar proceedings against the Trenton Oilclosth and Linoleum Company were discontinued.

It was shown, according to the opinion of the court that Deputy Factory Inspector Milburn had taken the action against the company without authority from the chief of his department and it was likewise shown that the children said to be under the restricted age were as a fact not in the employ of the Cook concern. They worked for the men with whom the company has contracts.
