The following clipped from the Richmond Telegram shows what gas will do for a town's prosperity: "At Muncie the Nail-works are bringing 700 people, all of whom are to be there by the last of September and there are not houses enough for them. Yet they must have homes. If there were houses now many of the employees would move at once. On the first of September the Hemingray Glass Factory, the Over Glass Works, and the Marian-Hart Glass Company will commence operations for the first time. None of the workmen are yet in the city. When they do come, they must have places to live. At least 250 houses will be required for the men who come with these companies. In a few days the Muncie Pulp Company will be in operation. More houses will be required for the employees of this concern."
