The following is a list of the officers of Local Union No. 141:

President, A. M. Glassen; vice president, Henry Forger; financial secretary, W. A. Swearer; corresponding secretary, James McGee.

Business seems to be good at the present in this locality. Tank No. 2 is now in operation at the Southern Glass Co. making green glass. Gins and vinegars are being made on Lynch machines. The mould shop is busy, with two men working at night.

Harry Hugg is now in the mould shop.

Leslie A. Zimmer finished his apprenticeship in the mould shop in Ferbuary and is now a full fledged "Flint.

Chester Overmeyer, of the Overmeyer Mould Shop of Winchester, Ind., visited this section recently, being on a business trip.

The Lenwood Specialty Co. reports business good. They have just installed a new shaper, an Ohio, made in Canton, Ohio. It is electrically driven 20 inch stroke.

Another important glass factory of Los Angeles is that of the McLaughlin Glass Co. located at 52nd and Almeda [sic] Alameda streets. They make insulators, fish bowls, cooler jars, battery jars, syrup dispensers, desk lights, jellies, and a general line of bottles. They have one day tank and two continuous tanks, 10 and 14 tons capacity, respectively. Water bottles from gallon packers up to five gallon sizes are made, also 3 cell battery jars, weighing 14 lbs. and syrup dispensers weighing 8 lbs. Their fish bowls run from 1 to 3 gallon sizes, with lids also. They also make a cooler of 8 gallon capacity. Another article of interest is the glass faucet for citrus fruit drinks used in drug stores, and fruit stands. Frank Simkins, mould shop foreman, being the inventor. Also a radio battery, having glass partitions pressed in, 49 in a battery and each weighs 4 ounces.

Some of the old-timers working at the McLaughlin are: Frank Evans from the Ohio Valley; Dan Burke, W. Henderson, Dick Boyer, Geo. Goebel, the McCanic brothers, Henry, Jerry, Nick and Pete.

Oscar Kealey from Pittsburg and Frank Simkins constitute the mold force, Cyrus Wendelkins of Newark, Ohio, having recently left the mold shop and is now in the real estate business, doing well according to reports.

All for this time.
