TANK AT THE HEMINGRAY PLANT EXPLODES
A huge tank at the plant of the Hemingray Glass Company, Muncie, Ind., exploded early on the morning of October 10, resulting in an estimated damage of $2,000. About 75 tons of molten glass were in the tank, which had been charged a few days before and was to have been placed in operation soon. Three crews of city fireman played water on the boiling glass from shortly after 4 o'clock in the morning till nearly noon.
