RECEIVER TO OPERATE H. C. FRY

GLASS CO. AS TEMPORARY MEASURE

An operating receivership for the H. C. Fry Glass Co., Rochester, Pa., was appointed in the courts of Beaver county on October 8. The step was taken as a protection to creditors and customers. The Beaver Valley and H. C. Fry factories continue in operation with W. H. Green and George H. Gerwig as receiver.

The receivership, according to the receivers, is intended to be only a temporary arrangement to enable the company to realize on some of its assets which are far in excess of its indebtedness. The receivers expect to return the property to the company within a short time with all pressing liabilities discharged and the company in good financial condition.

Current business with the H. C. Fry Glass Co. is reported excellent with a fine volume of orders on hand. The payroll for the week ended October 10 was the largest the company had had in more than two years. This is looked upon as an indication that the receivership will not be prolonged.

Mr. Green, one of the receivers, is an experienced glass man and is in active charge of the production and commercial activities of the company. Mr. Gerwig is a banker of many years experience.
