WHITALL TATUM CO. CLOSES HAND

FACTORY. MAY BUILD MACHINE PLANT

Work ceased permanently on February 3 at the Whitall Tatum Co.'s hand bottle plant, Millville, N. J., known as factory No. 9, says the Bridgeton (N. J.) Evening News in its issue of February 4. Extinguishing of the fires was merely in accord with the company's program of elimination of this method of bottle making, it was stated.

No. 9 factory housed half a dozen shops and while some of the men employed have been given positions in other factories, most of them will find work elsewhere. It is reported that the company plans to build a machine tank on the site.
