THE POTTERY AT MEDICINE HAT

Dear Sir: A clipping from the JOURNAL has been sent me which states that not much credence is given to a report received at East Liverpool that a new pottery is to be established at Medicine Hat, Canada.

Permit me to state that the report is quite correct, and that the pottery is well along towards completion. I may also add that as a result of investigations of Canadian clays, carried on by me during the last four summers for the Canadian Geological Survey, I can state that Western Canada contains clays adapted to the manufacture of red earthenware and stoneware. Some of these could be used by the Medicine Hat pottery.
