NEW LOS ANGELESPLANT WILL MANUFACTURE GLOBES AND SPECIALTIES FOR the purpose of manufacturing street lighting globes, raised letters for electric signs and glass specialties, the Crystalite Products Corporation, of Glendale, a suburb of Los Angeles, has been incorporated under Delaware laws, it was announced last week, by Paul D. Howse, president. Although a separate unit, the company is closely affiliated in ownership and management with the Electrical Products Corporation and Diamond Electrical Manufacturing Co. of that city. The company has purchased a factory site 150x180 feet near Western avenue and San Fernando Road in Glendale. The property is improved with a factory building 75x180 feet, which is now being equipped for the manufacture of the company's glass products. A new warehouse building for manufactured products will be erected shortly on the remainder of the tract. The plant will have an annual output valued at about $2,000,000 and will be operated 24 hours a day. Manufacture of street lighting globes will be featured by the Crystalite Products Corporation. Mr. Howse pointed out that all of the globes used by Pacific Coast cities in street lighting are now manufactured in the East, and with all of the Western States a potential market the company anticipates a ready reception for its product. OUTPUT VARIED The company also will manufacture raised glass letters for electric signs, glass insulators and other glass equipment used by electrical products in the manufacture of Claude Neon signs, and glass hardware and specialties. Since the organization of the Electrical Products Corporation late in 1925, Mr. Howse and associates have expanded their operation throughout the Pacific Coast and recently into the Southern States through the purchase of Claude Neon rights of the Federal Sign Co. The Diamond Electrical Manufacturing Co. was recently organized for the purpose of manufacturing electrical equipment used by the Electrical Products Corporation. Officers of the new concern are Paul D. Howse, head of the Electrical Products and Diamond Electrical Manufacturing companies, president; H. B. Woodill, director Diamond Electrical Manufacturing Co., vice-president, and Harry Stewart, secretary-treasurer. These, with the following, comprise the Board of Directors: Morris B. Miller, director Electrical Products Corporation; J. W. Drake, president Drake-Wilcox & Co.; G. E. Arbogast, president Newberry Electric Corporation; H. H. Walker, street lighting contractor, and George Ernst, glass specialist. The Crystalite Products Corporation has an authorized capitalization of 1,000 shares per 7 per cent, preferred stock of $100 par value and 20,000 shares of no par value common stock. All of the preferred stock and 4,000 shares of the common stock is outstanding. According to Mr. Howse, the company has no stock for sale and all of the shares now outstanding were sold without promotion expense. |
