DEATH SUMMONS J. WHITALL NICHOLSON,

FORMER EXECUTIVE OF WHITALL TATUM CO.

After a lingering illness, J. Whitall Nicholson, who retired in 1928 after many years as vice president of the Whitall Tatum Co., of Millville, N. J., died May 30 at his home in Moorestown, N. J. Mr. Nicholson was 75 years old and a member of the Society of Friends. He was one of the oldest directors of the Provident Trust Co. and of the Provident Mutual Life Insurance Co., of Philadelphia.

After graduating from Haverford College in 1876, Mr. Nicholson entered the employ of the Whitall Tatum Co. in the Philadelphia offices. Later he became a member of the firm and then vice president. Until his retirement he was active in the management of the company.

Surviving Mr. Nicholson are his wife, two daughters and one son, Alfred Nicholson, of Cambridge, Mass. A brother, William H. Nicholson, Jr., also survives. Services were held June 2 at the Nicholson home with interment in Westfield cemetery, near Moorestown.
