BYRD THANKS CORNING GLASS WORKS

FOR RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR EXPEDITION

A letter from Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, of the U. S. Navy, expressing appreciation of the work of Corning Glass Works in assisting in the outfitting of the Byrd Antarctic expedition with Pyrex electrical resistant glass for radio equipment has been received by executives of the company.

"Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd and the executive committee of the Byrd Antarctic Associates," the letter reads, "express to the Corning Glass Works their enduring appreciation of the most valuable cooperation in equipping of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition."

"It is our privilege to attest and we acknowledge that without such assistance the accomplishment of the expedition in the Antarctic would not have been possible."
