CORNING GLASS WORKS LEASES LARGE TRACTS OF NATURAL GAS LANDS
The saving in fuel costs expected from utilization of natural gas has resulted in the Corning Glass Works, of Corning, N. Y., acquiring options or leases on from 10,000 to 15,000 acres in that vicinity, it was announced recently by Dr. Eugene C. Sullivan, vice chairman of the board. "The Glass Works has a large fuel consumption," stated Dr. Sullivan, "and naturally we want to reduce the production costs. We have, on the advice of the best geologists obtainable, taken option or leased from 10,000 to 15,000 acres, in a large measure in blocks rather than in scattered areas. Exactly how far we will go in this matter will depend, of course, on findings and developments which cannot be foretold." |
