Rubber Insulator
The Case RC- 1 rubber insulator,manufactured by the Continental Rubber Works, is shatterproof and practically impervious to "pot shots" and rocks from sharpshooting vandals and hunters. It has good mechanical and electrical characteristics, retaining its elasticity and self-cleaning ability under exposure to heat, cold, rain, fog and corrosive atmospheres. A design improvement is the widening of the air gap between the bottom of the petticoat and metal frame of the bracket, which gives a longer leakage path and assures more effective use of the petticoat's insulating properties in wet weather.
