New Glass Factory in England
Pilkington Brothers of St. Helens, have just bought, near Doucaster, a large tract of land for the erection of a factory and for dwelling houses for their employees. Up to the present time 300 to 400 houses have already been finished and it is estimated, that the population of that town, which has now 1000 inhabitants, will increase to 10,000 within the next five years, on account of the erection and operation of the factory. The glass house is located in the coal region of Doucaster, and near several important railroad lines.
