Making Good Progress at Marion

MARION, IND., Oct. 16 — The Marion Fruit Jar & Bottle Co. made a fine start with silver clear glass. This firm is now turning out fine ware, with very bright prospects ahead. This is one of the busiest and best firms in the gas belt; they are always keeping things going. Several of the blowers lost time last week on account of sore hands, but they are all at work now.

There were several Pittsburg gentlemen here last week, looking for a location to build a glass factory, and they were escorted around our "Queen City" and seemed to be well pleased with it and its location and expressed themselves as being desirous of locating here soon. We hope that many more Pittsburg glass manufacturers will come and help to build up our city. They are all welcome, for we have very nice locations and plenty of gas, for all kinds of factories, and we have fine citizens, who will treat them right.

It is reported that the window houses will soon start.

It will only be about four more weeks until the Thomas Evans flint glass works will start. Several families have moved here from the South Side, who are going to work for this new firm.

The King City Glass Works, of Fairmount, will resume operations this week. They will make oil cans and battery jars. This will add another factory to the green house list. — READER.
