Colorado City is rejoicing over the starting of the glassworks for the season of 1890-91. The plant has been thoroughly overhauled, and is one of the most successful manufacturing establishments in the State. According to the Iris the concern has invested $167,000, and is at a daily expense of $400. The present capacity is form 15,000 of 20,000 bottles every day twenty-four hours, and it is thought that before the close of the season the company will arrange for the manufacture of window glass, lamp chimneys, and the like. It has now in the course of construction a large store room for keeping of raw materials, soda ash, etc. The new flint works, too, are being pushed to completion as rapidly as possible, and it is hoped to have this new feature of the works in operation by October 1, at which time the force will be increased to about 200.
