Some Changes Have Taken Place In

That State

FAIRMOUNT, IND., Nov. 5. - The Fairmount glassworks started off nicely and has now been in operation since October 17. They have changed from fruit jars, to a general line of green bottles, and are having a big run in oils at present. They are operating two shifts on their four ringed tank.

It is 16 months since this factory was operated and the men had quite a long wait. The prospects are very encouraging for the factory now, it is well equipped, and has a good set of workmen, so if the trade continues to improve as it has been doing, particularly in the last month, this firm will, no doubt, come out all right.

All the workmen are now working on the plate. Some never worked that way before, but they are catching on rapidly. Nearly all are the old hands. A few plate workers were brought here, among them are Patrick Hallon, of Hamilton, Can., Frank Mason, Pittsburg, Evans Orleby and Ruff. Brown of North Baltimore; A. Ballarts and W. Gough.

The King City Glass Co., have fire in their tanks and are arranging to start November 15. They will have three shops on battery jars, and two press shops. It is understood that it is the intention of the firm to operate with union men. The 3 ringed tank has been enlarged to 7 rings by extending a square shaped neck, about 5x7 feet on the working end of the continuous tank. A glory hole has also been added. Six new ovens will be erected. T. E. Tigner will have charge.

The Dillon factory is expected to be sold. It has not been operated since it got into financial complications by a bank bursting here about a year ago. It depends on who gets it whether it will be started this fire or not. - KING CITY
