Death from Apoplexy - Navy Yard

Appointment

 

VALLEJO, July 19th. — This morning Isaac Blewitt, a machinist, recently working on the Navy Yard, Mare Island, was found dead in the rear of the premesis of John Bell on Carolina street, where he had been residing for some time past. The opinion of his physician is that he died from apoplexy, and the Coroner's Jury returned a verdict in accordance with that testimony.

P. H. Butler has been appointed quarterman under C. B. Denio, on the Navy Yard. The appointment comes direct from Washington.

The Electrical Construction and Maintenance Company of San Francisco to-day placed an electrical enunciator in the Bernard Hotel in this city.

There was a Grant and Wilson meeting at this place to-night. A great many persons were enrolled members of the new Club, when the meeting adjourned till to-morrow for the election of officers.
