THE HARDFORD-FAIRMONT DECISION.

SOME months ago Homer Brooks [sic] Brooke won an important suit against several manufacturers for infringing his patent, and later sued the Hartford-Fairmont Co. This time he lost. The case was tried before District Judge Thomas, of Connecticut, on February 18th, who decided that the defendant does not infringe and dismissed the suit saying: "The evidence is conclusive that the Brooks [sic] Brooke's machine and the defendant's machine are radically different in theory and operation, and they certainly are in no way similar in appearance or operation."
