State Capital Notes.
Governor Hoadly to-day wrote a letter to the attorney of "Reddy" McHugh, the Cincinnati wife-murder under sentence of death, in regard to the application for executive clemency. While the Governor sympathizes with the family of the condemned, he cannot conscientiously interfere with the law's course. McHugh must hang. The following certificates of incorporation were filed with the Secretary of State: The Cadiz Glass Company, of Cadiz, capital stock of $15,000; the Third Avenue Methodist Church of Columbus; Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Good Templars of Cleveland; increase of capital stock of the Standard Lighting Company of Cleveland from $50,000 to $150,000. |
