The National Products Co. has equipped two kilns at the plant of the R. Thomas & Sons Co. with oil burners, and exhaustive tests are to be made of this method of kiln-firing. It is claimed that with as low a pressure as three ounces of gas and the proper mixture of air a kiln of ware can be fired successfully. Under ordinary conditions three ounces of gas are not sufficient to hold the heat in a kiln. Pottery manufacturers are showing keen interest in these tests.
