The glass plant at Lonaconing, Md., resumed operations on Monday under the title of the Utility Glass Works, a new corporation having the following officers, all of whom have been connected with the glass industry for a number of years: J. E. Marsden, president; J. Howard Fry, vice-president; E. T. Davis, secretary, and S. R. Scholes, treasurer and general manager. The new company has leased the plant of the Lonaconing Glass Co., and as the start the entire output will be devoted to filling large orders for automobile headlight lenses. Natural gas is now being used as fuel, but an oil-burning installation is under construction, and will be ready for early fall. The factory manager is Roderick McKay, lately with the economy Tumbler Co., and John Towler, lately with the Beaver Glass Co., is in charge of the mold shop and finishing departments.
