Activities at the Glass Factories
Pittsburgh and Vicinity · · A new glass manufacturing plant is to be erected at Birmingham, Ala., according to advices received here this week. The Birmingham Glass Manufacturing Co., has been formed there with a capital stock of $400,000 for the purpose of manufacturing a general line of ware to include specialties and table glassware. Sol W. Quinn, of New York, is president of the company, H. C. Bryson, also of New York, is vice president and general manager; and E. R. Owen, of Birmingham, is secretary-treasurer. A rich deposit of silica sand suitable for glass manufacturing purposes has already been acquired by the new company. · · |
