RECEPTION GIVEN BY MRS. CROSS.

Mrs. Frank Bradley Cross gave a beautiful reception in Cincinnati last week, the following notice of which is in the Cincinnati Enquirer of Sunday. Mrs. Cross formerly lived here and was one of the prominent hostesses of Lexington society:

"Mrs. Frank Bradley Cross entertained with a fascinating reception in honor of Mrs. Frank B. Cross, Jr. (Mary Pounsford), which took procedence [sic] precedence in this week's proceedings. The wonderful array of flowers, arranged most artistically in bowls and tall, slim vases throughout the handsome rooms; a gracious receiving line, devoted to the hostess and the guest of honor; a delightful company of interesting people and a tea table the like of which has not been excelled for beauty of arrangement or charm of its presiding spirits, combined to make this first reception of the autumn a notable one.

"Among those who looked in to offer their felicitations were Mrs. A. Clifford Shinkle, Mrs. Llewellyn Hemingray, Mrs. William Goodman Eaton, all of whom succeeded each other at the tea trays; Miss Mabel Thrall, the hostess' sister, andher niece. Mrs. Frederick Swope, and Mrs. Harry Pounsford, the bride's mother, who assisted in the hospitalities of the afternoon; Mrs. Casper Henry Burton, Mrs. Bradford Shinkle, William T. Burton, Mrs. C. B. Mathews, Mrs. W. Alexander Julian, Mrs. Stanley Lawson, Miss Goodall, Miss Adele Goshorn, Mrs. Victor Price, Mrs. Goodrich Rhodes, Mrs. J. W.
