The entertainment at the First Baptist Sunday school, on Fourth street, last night, was a perfect success. Long before time for the commencement of the exercises the school was filled to its utmost capacity with scholars and friends. A great barricade of bags, filled with gifts for the Orphan's Home at Louisville, completely surrounded the rostrum, this being an annual custom with them. The excercises commenced with singing by the scholars. After prayer the children sang a favorite hymn. Mr. D. Ashworth rendered in his usual finished manner a poem by the late Buchanan Reed, which was highly appreciated. Able and amusing remarks were made by Bros. Worcester and Felix, concluding with a comic recitation by Mr. Ashworth, which convulsed the audience with laughter. After the distribution of cream candies and othe good things, everyone departed with the decided impression that the whole affair was a happy one.
