Glass Pole Manufacture. A European concern is said to be making telegraph and telephone poles of glass. The glass is molded over a thick framework of woven wire, which adds to the strength of the pole. These poles will neither rot nor rust and insects will not attack them. Unless broken by an unusual accident, they will last forever, and now that timber is so expensive in Europe they are little more costly than wooden poles. |
