GAYNERS OPERATING

PARKER GLASS PLANT

The Salem Standard and Jerseyman recently printed the following article on the activities of the Gayner Bros., proprietors of the Gayner Glass Works:

"Gayner brothers, proprietors of the Gayner Glass Works at Salem, N. J., who have leased the Parker Bros. plant at Bridgeton, are successfully operating that factory and each day turning out a lot of high class ware. There are 27 blowers employed and one machine is engaged in making battery jars. In all there are employed at the plant about 250 men and women. The highest wages in the trade are paid there.

"Gayner Brothers have a contract for the manufacture of battery jars in large numbers and they also turn out a lot of other big ware which requires skilled blowers, and here they have the pick of the best men. The factory conditions are ideal and both men and employers are highly pleased with the situation. The plant occupies an ideal position and has the benefit of both the Central and Pennsylvania railroads.

"The Gayner brothers will operate the plant all through the summer months, there being such a demand the for their product that the customary summer stop cannot be made. The plant can be kept going by substituting for the necessary vacation of blowers."
