New Cleat.
The accompanying cut shows a new safety adjustable china cleat that is manufactured by the E. G. Bernard company of Troy, N. Y. The company states that the electric insurance experts of the United States, at their recent meeting in New York, decided against the further use of wooden cleats, and the one in question was devised
to meet their requirements when they shall be made public. In this cleat both parts, top and bottom, are exactly alike, thus preventing trouble or mistake in packing and saving time in putting up. The cross section is so designed as to strengthen the cleat. It only requires one screw and four small lugs to hold it securely in position when once it is put up, so that perfect alignment is secured. It is adjustable, and is made both glazed and unglazed. The cleat is made of superior imported clay and is thoroughly vitrified and strong. The Western Electric company, the E. S. Greeley company and Alexander, Barney & Chapin of New York carry a stock of these cleats. |
