The Knapp Failure.

On Monday about 80 signatures had been received by the Knapp Creditors' association to the petition asking the court to set aside the appointment of Receiver H. P. Lucas. Nearly an equal number of creditors have, it is said, signed a counter-petition asking that the present receiver be allowed to remain undisturbed. On the part of the Creditors' association, however, it is stated that some of those signing the pro-Lucas petition have since notified the creditors' committee that they desired to record themselves as favoring the opposition as to the existing receivership.
