Dan Hemingray of Covington tried to make the delegates and visitors believe he belonged at Cincinnati. The Kentucky colonel was very much interested in the contest over the selection of the meeting place for 1898, and his enthusiasm for Cincinnati led him to repudiate his connection with Covington. It is feared that Dan will have considerable difficulty in explaining the situation on his return home.
