WILL CONSTRUCT A MODERN PLANT. Harloe Insulator Co. Will Erect An Up-to-Date Tank Factory.
The annual meeting of the stockholders of the Harloe Insulator Co. was held last week at Hawley, Pa., and directors were elected for the ensuing year. A number of the stockholders from New York and Scranton were present at the meeting. The report of the president for the preceeding year showed a large gain and as the company at the present time have more business than they can possibly attend to, and are every day receiving orders from the largest supply houses in the United States, it was unanimously agreed to proceed with all possible haste in constructing a modern plant, to manufacture the insulators. Orders for four new presses and extra molds were immediately placed with the firm of Brooke and Shields, in New York, who were represented at the Hawley meeting by Wm. D. Brooke. The capacity of these presses will be 20,000 insulators per day. The order for the large melting tank will be placed as soon as competitive bids can be decided upon. The factory will be built on the company's land situated on the Honesdale branch of the Erie railroad. They will make every effort to have the plant in operation before the last of April, and as they have received subscriptions to most of their limited amount of stock now offered for sale, and many of the contracts for equipment have already been awarded, it is believed that this can be done. |
