BOY SAID HE WAS KICKED Glassworker Arrested Yesterday on Complaint of Youngster.
Roy Black, a youngster employed at the Hemingray glass factory got into trouble with Fred Salter, a pressman and had the latter arrested on a charge of assault and battery, yesterday. Constable Kennedy made the arrest and Salter arranged to make a settlement. The trouble, it is said, grew out of the fact that Black persisted in staying where he is not wanted, it is a rule of the factory and also of the union, that boys are not allow to attempt to operate the machinery. Black claims that he was ordered away and that Salter kicked him as he was trying to escape. |
