The many friends and acquaintances of Mrs. Ed. Swasey will be pained to hear of her death from typhoid fever, which occurred at 2 o'clock this morning after a lingering illness. Mrs. Swasey died at the residence of her father, Mr. Robert Hemingray, who, with his daughter, Miss Mintie, are now in Europe.

Researcher notes:Edward D. Swasey became associated with the Hemingray Glass Company is about 1870. He progressed up through the ranks from Clerk to Secretary-Treasurer in 1873 when Richard Evans became Vice President. Swasey held this position until 1880 when Ralph G. Hemingray was named Vice President and Richard Evans assumed the duties of Treasurer. Swasey filled the position of Secretary for one year then he disappears from the company structure.
