MUNCIE, Ind., June 4. — (UP) — One man was killed and two believe trapped in a cave-in at the Owens-Illinois glass plant here today.

Rollin Collins was killed when the banks of an excavation caved in on a crew of five workers. Willie Palmer, 52, was reported critically injured, Clura Garrett, 21, slightly injured and two other men believed trapped in the dirt fall.

Names of the trapped workers were not immediately available.

The crew, employed by the Glaser Construction Co., of Muncie, was constructing a glass tank for use in the manufacture of glass building bricks by the Owens-Illinois firm.

The city's rescue squad and units of the Muncie fire department were called to the scene.
