THE MICA INSULATOR COMPANY at Chicago and New York have issued a neat and very desirable catalogue. It comprises a short history of mica down from the time of Thales and Mahomet to that of the Anglo-Indian. It is illustrated, and gives an excellent idea of the mica mines of India. The chief value of the catalogue to the electrical engineer, however, obtains in the tables and information concerning mica and micanite. The tables comprise resistances, break down voltages of a large number of insulators, while very instructive data is comprised under the titles of "Armature Notes and Commutator Construction."
