WESTERN NOTES. · · CINCINNATI, Feb. 15, 1886. The Standerd [sic] Standard Electrical Works, E. V. Cherry, Vice-President and General Manager, are very well satisfied with the volume of business which they are doing. In addition to a steady demand in all departments, their electric bell, burglar and fire alarm department is receiving more than ordinary attention from users of this class of material just at present, and the company's new hotel fire alarm is being especially favored by customers. This last the company is pushing vigorously, and has lately established an agency in London for its introduction abroad. C. E. Jones & Brother, manufacturing electricians, find their business increasing steadily. I was interested in seeing the many different things into which soapstone is made in the establishment of the D. M. Steward Manufacturing Company. Not only is this material used extensively in electric gas-lighting apparatus, but for some time the company has been experimenting with a view of producing electric light insulators, and the success which they have attained in this direction may perhaps be best illustrated by referring those interested to the strong testimonial letter which the Steward Manufacturing Company prints in its advertisement in your paper. The company will be glad to send its-circulars to those asking for them. W. A. K · · |
