PRIDE IN THOMAS CHINA CO. SUCCESS

In a recent issue of the Buckeye State there appeared a very good cut of the Thomas China Co., located at Lisbon, O.

The Lisbonites take no little pride in referring to their modern establishment at every opportunity. The Thomas China Co. was incorporated in 1901 and commenced active operations Jan. 1, 1902. Its officers are: George W. Thomas, secretary and treasurer, and Ed Rigby, manager.

The plant is located on the Erie and P. L. & W. Railroads, which gives it direct connection with two of the largest railroads in the United States.

The concern makes a specialty of the manufacture of semi-vitreous porcelain ware, and since they first began business have been turning out ware of the finest grade, which has found a ready market all over the country. The Lisbon pottery has a capacity of six kilns and is considered very up-to-date in its equipment.

All its officials are the product of this city, and when they arranged to build their plant they could not do any other than erect a structure that was complete with the latest modern improvements. About 200 people find employment with the firm and the monthly pay roll of the plants rounds up a very large sum. In this respect it has proved a valuable acquisition to the county seat. Since it began operations the first of the year it has never been idle and the output is being increased as fast as the demands require.
